The first module covers demand and capacity planning, addressing the challenges of demand-capacity mismatch in healthcare. Students learn about demand forecasting approaches, capacity planning, queuing challenges, and scheduling systems. The second module delves into inventory management, exploring its importance in healthcare, challenges involved, and approaches for improving inventory performance. The third module focuses on procurement and supplies management, examining the procurement process, challenges, models, vendor selection, and the role of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). The final module addresses emerging trends in healthcare supply chains, including innovations, best practices, and change management approaches. Throughout the course, students work on an operational process improvement project, applying the concepts learned to real-world scenarios.
