Following his graduate studies, he analyzed government energy policy at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory before transitioning to healthcare to assist a childhood friend in building a database for heart patient research. Throughout his career, Doug has worked in various healthcare environments, including startups, health plans, HMOs, and academic medical centers. His contributions include developing computer systems for clinical trials, conducting operational and financial analysis for a national HMO, creating call centers for patient care support, and implementing data warehouses for large EHR projects.
