Her research focuses on regulatory science, patient perspectives on medications—particularly antibiotics—and pharmacy practice, including the implementation of cognitive services and improving communication between patients and healthcare professionals. Dr. Kaae has published numerous articles in her field and is currently the principal investigator of a European project aimed at enhancing patient-centered communication among pharmacy staff. Anne Gerd Granaas is a Professor of Pharmacy Practice/Social Pharmacy at the University of Oslo, Norway, and also holds a 20% position at the Norwegian Centre for E-health Research in Tromsø. She received her MSc in Pharmacy from the University of Oslo in 1995 and completed her PhD in Clinical Pharmacy at the University of London in 2000, focusing on prescribing quality and medication review through inter-professional cooperation in a general practice setting. Her research includes studies on multidisciplinary interventions to identify and resolve drug-related problems across various health settings, as well as exploring the role of pharmacists in professional services. Dr. Granaas has a keen interest in patients' understanding and management of their illnesses and medications, particularly among elderly populations, those with diabetes, and patients on anticoagulant therapy. She employs both quantitative and qualitative methods to address patient safety issues and teaches at undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD levels.
