About Me

Dr. Andrew Kirby is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Leeds and an Honorary Consultant Microbiologist. He specializes in complicated intra-abdominal infections, surgical antibiotic prophylaxis, healthcare-associated infections, and antibiotic pharmacology. Dr. Kirby trained in medicine at the University of Liverpool and later completed an MSc in Medical and Molecular Microbiology at the University of Manchester. He holds an MD focused on norovirus infection epidemiology.
