Dr. Nielson, the Chief Education Officer at VOXY, is an applied linguist with a focus on instructed second language acquisition. She is dedicated to making language learning more efficient, engaging, and effective through the use of technology and cutting-edge research on adult language learning. She earned her PhD in Second Language Acquisition from the University of Maryland, where her research emphasized technology-enhanced language instruction and the integration of SLA theory with language teaching. Katie has successfully led teams in designing award-winning language courses for the U.S. Government, universities, and language training centers.
